Step 2 – Paying for College
Financial assistance is available in the form of grants, scholarships, and loans. Go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ to get started.
 
Step 3 – Placement Testing
You will need to take three placement exams to identify skill levels in English, Reading and Mathematics. Scores are used to determine proper course placement.
   
Step 4 – Attend a Group Advising session
All new to college students will schedule a Group Advising session with the Academic Advising front desk in the SES Building or by calling 602-243-8330. Students will learn about Academic Advising, how to use the my.maricopa.edu system and register for classes based on their placement test scores. All new to college students will also register for a College Success class and New Student Orientation. 
 
Step 5 – Tuition and Fee Payments
Pay your fees through one of the following methods:
* Check
* Cash
* Debit card
* Credit card
* eCashier payment plan.

Step 6 - Attend your New Student Orientation (Passport to the Mountain)
New students will be able to learn about all the resources available to them as new college students. Students will also be able to tour the campus and meet faculty, staff and other new students.

   
Step 7 – Obtain Your Student ID & Parking Decal
Both services are FREE, after tuition is paid, at the registration and Records office in the Student Enrollment Services (SES) Building.
 
Step 8 – Bookstore
Get your textbooks in-store, located in the Student Services (SS) Building on the SMCC Main Campus or online at http://eFollett.com
   
Step 9 – Be Successful
Remember to log into my.maricopa.edu for updated enrollment information and activate your MCCD Google email account.

Step 10 – You’re officially a SMCC Cougar!
