Per Arizona State law, all students must provide information about their citizenship or residence status.
An Academic Advisor will review your program of study and the courses in which you are eligible to enroll for your first semester. Advisors will also refer you to to other Student Services departments, such as Disability Resources, if needed, and will register you for your iStart Smart New Student Orientation.
Step 6 – FOLLOW UP!
In your iStartSmart New Student Orientation, you learned to navigate my.maricopa.edu and your Online Student Center. You’ve learned how important it is to check your Message Center, Official Student Email, and your “To Do” List—be sure to follow up with any items that show up here requiring action. After you pay your tuition, you can obtain your SMCC ID card and Parking Decal at the Registration and Records Office, in the Student Enrollment Services (SES) Building. Both services are FREE.
Step 7 – EXPLORE AND GET INVOLVED ON CAMPUS:
Step 8 – ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT 602.243.8331
Throughout your college career at SMCC, check in with an Academic Advisor at least once every semester. They will work with you to create an individual educational plan; this will help you stay on track and achieve your goal of graduation.
Step 9 – BUY YOUR BOOKS AND SUPPLIES! 602.243.8152
The SMCC Bookstore has textbooks, class supplies, and SMCC Cougar gear. You can also make purchases online.
Explore your textbook options—you can buy new or used books, or even rent textbooks.
Step 10 – BE SUCCESSFUL, BE CONNECTED
iConnect serves new and continuing students at SMCC, promoting student success. iConnect is a resource for relaying information about campus activities to the SMCC and encouraging students to take advantage of what we have to offer.
The main goal of iConnect is to create a central location where students access all activities, success workshops and special events held on campus. iConnect resources, such as the iConnect lab (SES 105), promote awareness of the opportunities available on campus that will help in your academic, career, and personal development.
