Computer Commons

Welcome to the Computer Commons Website!

2008 marks the 8th year providing students and the community with computer access from the Technology Center.  We have nearly 100 computers with course-related software, Microsoft(R) Office applications including MS Office 2003 & 2007, and Internet access.

NOTE: We use Windows XP Professional operating system and not Windows Vista.

Join us in the Computer Commons (TC242) to complete your course assignments, do research, login to Blackboard(R) and browse the Internet.

We hope to see and hear from you soon!

Community Patron Information:
Enrolled students have computer access priority in the Commons.  SMCC is the only Maricopa Community College offering community access at no charge.

Access to computers for community patrons are Monday-Thursday after 2pm, and all day Fridays and Saturdays.

No children under the age of 14 are allowed in the Commons due to District policies.  Only those 14 years or older who are enrolled in the SMCC Charter High School are the exceptions.  SMCC's library may accomodate those who have children. (Library link)

All community patrons, as do enrolled students, must receive a User Orientation before using a Commons computer.  The Orientation outlines User Guidelines and Policies.

Please call the Commons and speak to a staff for more information.
