Overview
"A good college affirms that service to others is a central part of education." --The Carnegie Foundation
Experiential education is nothing new. Since the beginning of time, humans have learned through direct experience. Education needs to be active. It's about doing and being connected to the outside world. Experiential learning is positive, meaningful, and real. It accommodates all levels of learners.
"Our Experiential Education Program ties directly to the mission statement of our campus by facilitating the total development of our students. Active learning that takes place outside of the classroom can provide meaningful opportunities for our students . . . opportunities that have the potential to maximize the skills necessary for personal growth and responsible citizenship."
-- President Kenneth Atwater
