Security of and Access to Campus Facilities

All current students must have college identification cards and are encouraged to carry them while on campus. The campus is closed every night between 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. No external activities are permitted during that time. During all other hours, the campus is open to the public for college-related activities.

The South Mountain Community College (SMCC) Department of Public Safety staff conducts foot and vehicular patrols of the campus 24 hours a day. As a regular part of their patrol duties, they look for any safety problems, such as defective lighting, inoperative doors and locks, broken sidewalks, steps, handrails or any other conditions which might detract from safety and well-being.
