On Saturday, February 9, all Valley high school juniors and seniors are invited to spend the day at South Mountain Community College, to learn about the college’s special programs and services.
Students will also have the opportunity learn more about the various financial assistance opportunities available as well as complete their online financial aid (FAFSA) opportunities.
This annual program is open to students free of charge, and will feature information on popular SMCC programs of study such as teacher education, bilingual nursing, performing and fine arts, athletics, engineering and bioscience.
The all-day session includes tours of the college, questions and answers with college faculty, staff and current SMCC students, a complementary lunch, raffles and giveaways, and helpful information about how to pay for college.
Check-in for South Mountain’s “Cougar Day” begins that morning at 8:30 a.m., with the program starting at 9:00 a.m. Staff from the college Financial Aid Office will be available between 1:00 and 3:30 p.m., to assist students and their families in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Cougar Day takes place at the SMCC Student Union, 7050 S. 24th Street in Phoenix (just north of Baseline Road.)
