Overview
Students Transfer with Educational Preparation (STEP) offers qualifying participants with a strong academic support system and learning community that will assist them in mastering their college transitions.
The primary goal of the program is to increase the retention and graduation rates of participants who are committed to transferring to a four-year institution by increasing their access and opportunities to higher education.
The STEP Program is sponsored by South Mountain Community College and is 100% federally funded through the US Department of Education, TRIO Programs totaling $1,100,000.

Eligibility Criteria
A first generation college student, low income, or disabled, committed to transferring to a four-year institution.

A full-time student (12 units or more),

Maintain a 2.5 grade point average or better,

US Citizen or National of the United States,

Submit a completed application to the TRIO Office.
