The Title V team is presently taking applications for projects that will start October 1, 2007.
The timeline for module completion:
- Oct. 1, 2007 - September 30th, 2008--Eight Modules Completed
- Oct. 1, 2008 - September 30th, 2009--Eight Modules Completed
- Oct. 1, 2009 - September 30th, 2010--Eight Modules Completed
Just complete these three steps:
- Come in and see Jennifer Mansfield (TC 203) and find out more about the project. Brainstorm with her about critical thinking and how to best develop your ideas within SMCC courses.
- Get involved in the project by completing this application procedure.

3. Then, complete your Critical Thinking module.
Time Involvement and Pay
You’ll be compensated at the same pay rate as you would for a 3-credit course. The grant pays $2232 for each module that is delivered.
$24.95/per hour X 89.45 hours= $2232
- This is only an estimate….the actual number of hours spent on the project depends on the nature of the project that you undertake.
- Since 8 modules are developed for the grant each year, please include the month(s) and the year that you can complete this work in your application.
Modules must consist of:
- Instructor’s Guides
- Students' materials
- Write-up of results
Parameters:
- Modules can be inserted into 1-4 weeks of a semester class.
- Modules need to be outcome-based and measurable by an outcome-based assessment that demonstrates an increase of students’ critical thinking skills.
- Modules can involve problem-solving real life situations and case scenarios.
