What Are the Title V Project Outcomes?

Critical Thinking Skills Improve Throughout South Mountain!

The project’s objectives state that resources and instructional strategies will be developed so students can obtain the critical thinking skills needed to succeed in inquiry-based and applied sciences.

These objectives have been accomplished with the development of 36 instructional modules in writing, science, math and critical thinking (9 in each area over the next 4 years).

Look for the first 8 modules developed in 2007 under the link called - Title V Modules.

These modules can be potentially assessed by innovative strategies that may include scientific portfolios or other enhanced outcome-based assessment tools.

Can You Use These Modules and Compare Assessment Data with Other Teachers?

Yes! Feel free to use these modules in your classes!

These critical thinking modules and assessments are designed to be used by faculty throughout the institution, across many disciplines. And, you might consider sharing your results with your colleagues....or even creating new critical thinking modules either by yourself or with colleagues.

Also, you might want to get creative by comparing data from the assessments across semesters and evaluating the continual course revision by a peer mentoring process focused on the students’ improved critical thinking progress.
